UCRT helps Maasai, Hadzabe, Datoga and other pastoralist and hunter-gatherer communities in northern Tanzania win legally binding titles to the rangeland their livelihoods depend on.

Founded by ten Maasai women in 1997, the Pastoral Women's Council has helped over a thousand Maasai women win formal title to rangeland in a culture where women traditionally could not own land.

Once-barren, poached-out savanna in the western Serengeti corridor has been brought back to life through anti-poaching patrols, fire management and invasive-plant clearance.
